YOUR KEY TC’S GREEN SCHEME
The Real Estate industry is not generally thought of as environmentally friendly - and for good reason. The traditional escrow transaction process is extremely paper intensive and involves lots of paperwork being sent back and forth as well as voluminous Reports – not to mention a good bit of driving around for many of those involved in each transaction. The carbon footprint of the process has not, historically, been a small one. Your Key TC is working to change that.
We are using technology and programs that enable the entire real estate transaction - from contract to close - to be completely paperless and to be managed using web-based Relay® Transaction Management software, provided by the San Diego Association of REALTORS®. This technology not only saves trees; it also reduces the carbon emissions associated with the process.
At the Close of Escrow, a DRE Compliant file will be delivered to Broker with paper copies of all signed documents. In order to reduce printing and paper usage, we will no longer be printing complete reports to be included in your paper file; All completed documents and full reports will be available on your CD and on our online Relay® account. If hard copies are provided by the Reporting Agencies, they will be included in your file.
The goal of YOUR KEY TC’S GREEN SCHEME is to make our offices - as well as the entire real estate transaction - eco-friendly, by:
- Providing clients with electronic document delivery, instead of faxed or hard copies. This will not only provide faster service but will also ensure all copies are kept clean and legible for future viewing.
- Use of the Relay® Transaction Management system online to reduce paper usage
- Elimination of unnecessary printing
- Sharing all documents internally through Relay® Transaction Management
- Sharing all documents externally through Relay® Transaction Management or by emailing documents in .pdf format
- Archiving all documents electronically through Relay® Transaction Management and making a CD back-up copy for your files
- Participation in recycling programs
- Use of energy efficient light bulbs
